I always knew what I wanted to change about the existing monoskis and have designed numerous monoski models which gave me the experience in the winter-sports industry that many ski-bums dream of discovering. In 1998; after our becoming a premier sponsor of "The Derby de la Meije" in La Grave France, we gained the respect of the core group there which seemed to jump start new manufacturers into developing exciting monoski innovations.

White Knuckle took in some venture capitol to try and push the sport to the next level, but we did not survive the tech crash and 9/11. 2002 didn't just kick tech companies butts! Today, the sport is starting to take off again in France and is hanging in there with Duret leading the way and a few other grass roots manufacturers. It's hard to believe there is more than one manufacturer of monoskis with a world market under 2000 units but the current manufacturers are making exciting discoveries with new shapes using advanced composite technologies and some grass roots ingenuity.
