Fun Things We Do!
![]() Proud Sponsor of Monopalooza 2011!!! Monopalooza is all about having fun together with monoskis on our feet, in our hands or somewhere close by. We use monoskis as spatulas when we cook, we sleep with them, we are one with one ski! We like to watch everybody make fools of themselves as often as possible, especially if they're a little looped. So in the tradition of stupid pet tricks, we have the monoski gamez At Monopalooza!!! 2011 carnival events will be located at Alpine Meadows on Saturday, March 5th at 12:30 during lunch. The downhill doesn't officially take place anywhere at any time, but a speed gun is often broken out by those who like to go fast, and the downhill is just an open challenge made by the brave and organized on a whim by those with the need for speed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coda and Chronic and some individuals are donating prizes for the winners of 2011 Events. Winners of carnival events will win cool stuff! so everybody has a chance to win cool prizes... if they participate, you could even win all these poker chips!!! This year Coda is offering 4 boards at $150 each. That's like... cost of materials!!! For anyone that wants a Coda for $150, we will make you do something really stupid to qualify for such a great deal! We will do the awards ceremony at the Monopalooza house after skiing on Saturday between 5:30 and 6:00PM, we will have group pizza delivered, and we will pound on the KEGS!!! You must donate $$$ for the zzzaaa!!! Monopalooza will donate clothing items, and 4 days of ski-passes to Monopalooza 2012 to one of the winners!!! You must win a Carnival Event to qualify for the 2012 Thursday through Sunday Lift Tickets. Winner will be chosen by a paper-scissors-rock competition!!!
Late Night After Awards and shot-skis at the MonoP Pad: For those of you that don't dig hangin' at the pad, there is some groovy music tonight at the Lakeside Pizza Joint in Tahoe City
"Chinese Downhill... Yah, - It Is The Only Way..." This year's slogan and officially something that will not... and can not happen. Don't Do It! The course could be anywhere at anytime and officially isn't something we do but it always seems that a bunch of really fast speed-demons get together and challenge each other to a race of some sort??? So how do you prepare for a race that doesn't actually exist?
This aint no County Fair so who needs a potato sack to have fun when ya got a 3-legged race? How could you even do this on 2 skis or a snowboard? The monoski is the perfect platform for such a competition. 3-legged racers of the world only wish they could do an event this cool. You've gotta pace yourself or you'll twist out of the bindings leaving you and your partner face first in the snow... thus opened to be pelted with snowballs!
An all out sprintfest between individuals makes this one of the most hard corps competitions at the Monopalooza carnival. Winner will receive a mean rooster this year... if we can find one at a local farm! One rule!!! No monoskis under 160cm allowed!!! Monoskis must be skied on as they are ridden on the hill with no modifications. Brake arms must remain down, alteration by tape screwdriver or removal is strictly prohibited... and offenders will be pelted by snowballs and will receive a wedgy from Chainsaw!!!
In the tradition of the Copper Mtn. Pole Race during "The Mike Doyle Invitational", one of the first Monopalooza events is the most grueling and you'll need to shape up to have a chance to win this event! Our race path will be chosen on Friday by the group... it will most definitely be located at the base lodge area. You will need to prep your board to have a chance at this one... the rider with the best endurance and proper wax will be the winner above a strong challenger with bad base-prep!
Trying to push someone holding a monoski in their arms isn't as easy as one might think. Unlike the cheaters from last year, teams will be required to have the rider, touch only their tool with the upper part of their torso (Hey! Stop touching your tool!) touching the monoski from the waist down is strictly forbidden and the cheating rider will be pelted with snowballs at close range. The runner as always... must have ski boots on. Don't TOUCH IT! (Is it hard? My favorite monoski question???)
